Little Nicky's Pizza to host fundraiser for abused dog adopted by loving family this Saturday, September 11th

PRESS RELEASE

NORTH WILDWOOD - Little Nicky's, on the corner of 17th & Boardwalk, will host an all-day fundraiser this Saturday, September 11 for a loving pup who is in need of much medical attention. Joining the event schedule for the same day as the Morey's Doggie Dash & Splash, the fundraiser will help the dog's new family pay for medical expenses and hopefully surpass goals and raise funds for the Love to Live Animal Rescue.

Mookie is a 1-year-old, special needs dog who has suffered terrible treatment at the hands of cruel humans. He was kicked in the head by his prior owners and sustained a traumatic brain injury. Due to his injury, he now lives with balance disorders, fear, anxiety and impulsivity. He has had several hospital stays and has undergone surgery for foreign body ingestion, leaving his new family with significant medical bills.

"Ryan and Jen, Mookie's new family, both recently completed their masters degrees and are occupational therapists, which makes them great pet parents," said Elaina Galdo-Pagan, owner of Little Nicky's. "Sometimes it takes a village, so we at Little Nicky's want to do our part in helping this adorable little family with the stress of Mookie's hospital and surgery bills."

Despite all of the suffering Mookie has endured, he is making the most out of his new life. He is flooded with love, pets and affection from everyone he meets. He now gets to enjoy hiking, beach trips, snuggling, giving kisses and spending time with his puppy cousins.

This Saturday at Little Nicky's, 10 percent of all sales pizza from the entire day will go to Mookie's family and any donation that exceeds the amount of medical expenses will be donated to Love to Live Animal Rescue, where Mookie was adopted.

"Dogs can be your best friend. I know my pup Fritz is mine and I couldn't imagine him needing surgeries or bills being too much to handle," said Galdo-Pagan. "We are very excited to host this event!"

Customers who cannot make the event but would still like to donate are asked to donate online using Venmo (@Jen-Mellish) or Cash App ($MookieMellish).
