NJ BBQ Championship & Anglesea Blues Fest POSTPONED until 2021

The following update was posted on the official Facebook page of the NJ State BBQ Championship this morning, confirming that the event, originally scheduled for July 10-12 (along with the Anglesea Blues Festival) will not be taking place this year...

Official Announcement

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of the New Jersey State Barbeque Championship and Anglesea Blues Festival.

The safety of our volunteers, vendors, competitors, musicians and attendees has always been our top concern. We have attempted, in the midst of a global pandemic, to navigate the logistics of producing a first-class event that thousands of people anticipate each year.

Simply put, the current government restrictions, and the lack of any clear timeline as to when and to what extent those restrictions may be lifted over the next five weeks, makes it impossible to delay this decision any longer.

Producing an event of our size requires the coordination and mobilization of numerous contractors, vendors, suppliers and volunteers. It is not, and cannot, be produced overnight. We have no doubt that many will be disappointed by the postponement of the event, while others may applaud it.

No matter where you fall, rest assured that we will be back bigger and better than ever on July 9, 10 & 11, 2021.
