Event kick off on Wednesday with Warsteiner Beach Party, followed by new Swap Meet and Car Show leading to Race Weekend...
PRESS RELEASE
WILDWOOD, NJ-The thrills of racing and the nostalgia of the early 1900’s return to the Wildwood beach this weekend with The Race of Gentlemen. Arriving for their annual event, TROG prepares for an expanded schedule of attractions and opportunities that kick off on Wednesday, October 2.
For years, The Race of Gentlemen has provided thrill seekers the experience of going back in time with two days of racing down the Wildwood beach. Cars from the early 20’s up to 1934 and motorcycles from up to 1947 will line up early Saturday morning and parade down to the beach pit area at Schellenger Avenue. Racing will kick off at 8 AM each day. Spectators interested in watching the parade before racing can catch a glimpse of the participants on Schellenger Avenue and the beach just before the event entry area.
This type of racing dates back to the early 1900’s when thrill seekers, including Henry Ford, would race down the beach in Cape May. There was no better place for event organizers to bring TROG than Wildwood for its large beach with long, straight runs and pristine sand. This year, event organizers made the decision to move to October to allow for an expanded weekend of events including a swap meet and car show.
The Race of Gentlemen presents an event that is like walking into a time capsule; an event like no other. Canvas tents with wood frames dot the event area, racers are dressed to period, the music follows suit, and attractions inside fit the bill. Spectators visit from all over the world.
Advance tickets are suggested and all attendees with pre-purchased tickets will receive express entry into the event. Tickets are available at www.theraceofgentlemen.com.
