Morey's Piers Serves Up New Culinary Creations on Surfside and Mariner's Piers

PRESS RELEASE

Recently named the “best seaside amusement park in the world,” Morey’s Piers goes beyond serving funnel cake and hot dogs, making a trip to the Wildwoods, NJ boardwalk a full culinary experience.

Adding a dash of gastronomic flair to classic boardwalk fare, Morey’s debuts new food menus and offerings this season on Surfside and Mariner’s Piers.

Joe’s Fish Co. now features a lively second floor bar overlooking the lights and action of Surfside Pier.

Outfitted with several TVs and live musical performances every Thursday to Sunday from 8 pm to 11 pm, the new bar serves a variety of local craft beers, signature cocktails, wine by the glass, and a laid-back menu. Downstairs, the classic seafood house is serving up a brand new menu of dishes like lobster mac and cheese, New Jersey flounder, crab dip, salmon BLT, filet mignon, a raw bar and more.

On the Joe’s Fish Co. roof, Surfside Pier Chef Betsy Garr is growing a seasonal garden of herbs including cilantro, chives, basil, mint and parsley; green and jalapeño peppers; squash; lavender and an assortment of heirloom, cherry and large tomatoes to incorporate into the menu and daily specials.

At the front of Surfside Pier, fish lovers on the go will find the newly opened Joe’s Fish & Chips stand serving a variety of fresh seafood fried golden brown and paired with Morey’s famous Curley’s Fries. Guests can also choose from an assortment of sandwiches such as a lobster roll, fried oyster roll and more.

Stubborn Brothers Beach Bar and Grille, an oceanfront venue serving lively libations and open-air ocean breezes also debuts a new innovative menu this season.

Highlights include garlic parmesan wings, Kobe beef sliders, a hula pork sandwich with house roasted BBQ pork, cheddar cheese, coleslaw and onion rings on a Hawaiian roll, lettuce wraps, a grilled romaine salad with gorgonzola cheese, smoked bacon, red onion, cherry tomatoes and shallot vinaigrette, plus much more.

With an easy-to-access beach entrance, Stubborn Brothers Beach Bar and Grille, located at Ocean Oasis Water Park is open to the public and offers live music daily from 1 pm – 5 pm.

Over on Mariner’s Pier, Morey’s Piers Executive Chef Wally Jurusz adds new flavors and creative dishes at Jumbo’s, Taco Joint and Wrecker’s Beach Grill at Raging Waters Water Park.

At Jumbo’s, beer lovers will rejoice over the “100 Mile Beer Flight” featuring a rotation of drafts from breweries within 100 miles of Wildwood.

New food items on the Jumbo’s menu include house cooked potato chips with choice of three different seasonings – Sriracha Spiced, Old Bay Spiced and Chef Walter J’s Cuban Spice; a grilled tuna and quinoa wrap; steak frites with truffle parmesan fries; and the Cajun spiced golden tilefish sandwich which was recently featured in The Jersey Shore Cookbook: Fresh Summer Flavors from the Boardwalk and Beyond, published in April.

Taco Joint, a cantina style venue adds steak fajita tacos and soft shell crab tacos to their line-up of quesadillas, tacos, fresh salsas, nachos, and margaritas.

At Wrecker’s Beach Grill located in Raging Waters Water Park, guests will now find specialty items such as habanero mango hot wings; white Tuscan pizza with focaccia style crust, yellow tomatoes, mozzarella, and an artichoke and asiago cheese sauce; as well as a grilled salmon sandwich with balsamic glaze, lettuce and yellow tomato on a brioche bun.

The Morey Store on Mariner’s Pier will now feature handmade baked goods from Morey’s own Tim Samson, contestant on The Great American Holiday Baking Show that aired this past holiday season. All featured items highlight boardwalk inspired flavors such as cotton candy cake pops, salted caramel cupcakes and more.

The classic seaside attraction’s famed Breakfast in the Sky returns inviting guests to leisurely soar high above the Wildwoods shoreline aboard the attraction’s 156 foot high Giant Wheel while savoring the cool ocean breeze and a hot breakfast served “wheel-side” complete with white linens and fine china.

Hand-crafted by Executive Chef Wally Jurusz, this year’s menu includes new items such as shrimp, crab and chanterelle crepes, in addition to breakfast favorites like Belgian waffles, spinach and fontina quiche, and steak and eggs.
