North Wildwood's Concerts Under the Stars series kicks off tonight with Bill Haley Jr. and the Comets

North Wildwood's annual Concerts Under the Stars series will kick off at 8 p.m. tonight, with a performance by Bill Haley Jr. and the Comets at the Lou Booth Amphitheater (2nd & Ocean Aves).

Haley, who bears a striking resemblance to his legendary father, leads a five-piece band that specializes in recapturing the magic of songs from the dawn of the rock era; their playlist includes hits first performed by Bill Haley and his Comets and other popular songs of the 1950's and 60's.

As always, Concerts Under the Stars shows are FREE.

Tonight's concert will be the first of 15 to be played on Thursdays and Saturdays through the end of the summer.

Next up is Dancin' Machine Disco on Saturday (July 18th).

Prior to the show, at 7 p.m., the venue will host the finals of the 2015 Miss North Wildwood Pageant, as 2014 winner Maegan Sharkey will pass on her crown.

The pageant has been an annual event for the city since 1998.
