Play Pac-Man "in Wildwood" with Google Maps!

Please excuse my inner 7-year-old for getting waaaaay too excited over this...

As a child of the '80s, I grew up saving my quarters to play arcade and pinball games on the Boardwalk.

"Redemption casinos" are popular now, but back then ("Meeeeeh, get off my lawn!"), arcades were state-of-the art and blew away the home video game consoles.

It's pretty much the exact opposite now.

Anyway, I'll always associate the classics - Space Invaders, Pac-Man (Ms. Pac-Man,especially), Donkey Kong, Defender, Galaxian, etc. - with my childhood in Wildwood.

So, today I got downright giddy when I learned that Google Maps had added a feature that allows users to PLAY PAC-MAN on actual street grids!

Genius. Pure genius.

Head over to maps.google.com and punch in "Wildwood, NJ" (or any other location).

You can play through the streets of the island, right up onto the Boardwalk - how cool is that?!

(Initially, the map may zoom in a little too close; just pan around and the interface will eventually locate a playable grid.)
