The Atlantic Ocean Classic Dog Show Cluster, hosted by the Boardwalk Kennel Club of Cape May County, kicks off today at the Wildwoods Convention Center.
This is the first show of the season, with winners in a variety of categories moving on to the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City.
The event will feature five days of competitions, running through Sunday, February 1.
Competitions begin at 8 a.m. daily. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, and $2 for kids 12 and under.
Today, the Union County Kennel Club will host its All Breed Dog Show.
There will also be a Meet the Breed exhibit, offering the opportunity to talk with exhibitors and handle the dogs.
Starting today, and running throughout the event, will be the "It's a 'Shore' Thing" Crate Decorating Contest. Handlers have been encouraged to decorate their crates using a beach theme, and spectators will vote for their favorites.
Additionally, vendors will offer a wide selection of merchandise, from collars and leashes to books and training tools, and more. Guided tours and new exhibitor briefings will be available throughout the five-day event to educate the public about all aspects of the sport of dog showing.

Sand and Sea Kennel will again host their All Breed Dog Show; Best Veteran in Competition; Obedience and Rally Dog Show Trials; and Canine Good Citizens (CGC) Clinic.
Saturday, January 31
The Boardwalk Kennel Club of Cape May County will host their All Breed Dog Show; Obedience and Rally Dog Show Finals; Best Puppy in Show Competition; Sanctioned 4-6 Month Puppy Competition; Canine Good Citizens Clinic; Police K-9 Demonstration and Awards Ceremony; and Award Crate Decoration Winner.
Sunday, February 1
