NEW Earthcam camera brings live, HD video streaming... AND sound!

It really is the next best thing to being there!

Recently, when the Earthcam camera facing the Wildwoods Sign at the terminus of Rio Grande Avenue & the Boardwalk went dark, we were hoping for a quick fix.

We wound up getting something infinitely better!

The new webcam, which debuted this week, features live streaming video in high definition (HD) quality, with little to no lags, set at a wider viewing angle.

But the very best part is the addition of audio.

Now, on top of being able to see what's going on at the sign plaza, you can hear the chattering of children, the caws of seagulls, and even the famous "Watch the Tram Car, Please" announcement as the Sightseer rumbles by on the Boardwalk.

There is also a 24-hour archive of cam footage that can be accessed, neatly arranged in hourly increments. So, if you want to go back and watch your family moment at the sign from "yesterday," it's all right there for you to enjoy again.

Shoutout to GWTIDA (the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement & Development Authority) and Earthcam for teaming up to make this happen.
