St. Patrick's Day Weekend bar/pub primer

St. Patrick's Day Weekend is here!

The following is a alphabetical rundown of island establishments running a variety of specials and promotions over the next three days.

Casey’s on Third
Third & New York Avenues

Celebrate St. Patty’s day where the Irish come to play at Casey’s on Third, voted best Irish Bar 2012. Casey’s features live entertainment all weekend long starting at 3 p.m., Fri., March 15, with DJ Timmy O spinning classic Irish tunes. Try your luck as Casey’s features giveaways throughout the weekend. Casey’s carries all of your Irish favorites from Harp to Smithwick’s and is offering awesome drink specials including $4 Guinness pints. Casey’s can also satisfy Irish food cravings with their signature Fish & Chips, Shepherd’s Pie, Corned Beef & Cabbage, and other Corned Beef specials. Following the holiday, Casey’s on Third will be open seven days a week beginning Mon., March 18.


Cattle ‘n Clover
3817 Pacific Avenue

Cattle ‘n Clover kicks off their epic St. Patty’s Weekend Extravaganza with Fri., March 15th’s Birthday Celebration and Customer Appreciation Day. Join in celebrating Cattle ‘n Clover’s first birthday with live entertainment, giveaways, a free dessert with every entrée, and $4 Big Birthday Beers all night! Get a running start to the weekend with Saturday’s 5K Cattle Drive beginning at 8:30 a.m. and includes admission to the second annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. and until the party ends.

Admission for the block party is $15 for non-runners and includes a T-shirt, breakfast and soft drinks for kids. All block partiers under 13 years of age will have free admission. Live entertainment includes The Soul Cruisers, Flip N’ Mickey’s, Fuzzy Bone, Animal House and Sir Rod. On Sunday night, we will find out who truly has the luck of the Irish when they draw the winner of two tickets to an unforgettable six-night stay in Ireland.


The Deck at Holly Beach

All things go Irish at The Deck St Patrick’s Day Weekend. Come hang out and enjoy live entertainment on Friday with Bare Bonz at 9 p.m. On Saturday the Dueling Piano Duo will perform at 9 p.m. They are sure to entertain you while playing and singing their crowd pleaser tunes. Check out their many specials and join the fun!


Dogtooth Bar & Grill
100 East Taylor Avenue

Dogtooth with host a weekend full of St. Patty’s Day fun beginning with Name That Tune on Friday at 9 p.m. and carrying into Saturday with live music by Acoustic Mayhem at 9 p.m. Dinner specials will include everything from a Shamrock Salad with Granny Smith Apples, Blue Cheese, Raisins, Candied Walnuts and Grilled Chicken to Guinness Beer Battered Haddock & Chips and even a Green Pizza. Drink Specials will knock your socks off, be sure to try “Three Nutty Irish Men” with Jameson, Hazelnut and Bailey’s on the Rocks. 


Flip Flopz Beach Bar and Grill
Spruce & Old New Jersey Avenues

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day all weekend at Flip Flopz. Enjoy Fabulous Friday Happy Hour 3-8 p.m. featuring $5 appetizers and drink specials. Following the North Wildwood parade on Saturday enjoy live Irish music. Check out the Flip Flopz advertisement and the entertainment grid for their weekend entertainment schedule. The Luck of the Irish shines through with Flip Flopz Irish fare including Ham and Cabbage, Shepherd’s Pie and much more.


Goodnight Irene’s
2708 Pacific Avenue

You don’t have to be Irish to join the fun at Goodnight Irene’s St Patrick’s Day Weekend. One of the stops for the Erin Express you are sure to have a good time partying to the music of D.A.B. on Sat., March 16 from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Serving up South Jersey’s largest beer selection on tap, Irene’s offers 50 taps which are ever changing with craft brews along with such staples as Guinness, Smithwick’s, Stella and Blue Moon.


Mulligans Shore Bar & Grill
 310 W. Hildreth Avenue

Wear your green St Patrick’s Day weekend and join in the fun of playing Name That Tune on Friday at 9 p.m, live music on Saturday at 9 p.m., and live music Sunday afternoon from 3 to 7 p.m. Be sure to catch the Erin Express and stop in and see all the fun you can have while dining and drinking at one of the island’s original bars. Mulligans have daily and nightly happy hours seven days a week.


Owen’s Pub
119 E. 17th Avenue

Owen’s Pub is the place to be this weekend with great Irish drink specials and live entertainment all weekend long. DJ TJ starts it off Friday at 4 p.m. and DJ Bee Bop Bernie ends the night from 8 p.m. until 12 midnight. Seamus Kelleher, formerly of Blackthorn, begins at 9 p.m. on Saturday. On St. Patty’s Day DJ TJ spins your favorite tunes beginning at 2 p.m. and DJ Mikey D takes the floor at 8 p.m. It will be a fun-filled time, so be sure to stop by!


Shamrock Café 
3700 Pacific Avenue

Ring in Patty’s Day at Wildwood’s oldest Irish Bar, the Shamrock Cafe. A tradition since 1937, the Shamrock will be celebrating with live music by Billy Jack all weekend long and by First Highland Watch, a Pipe Brigade Rock Band beginning Sat. the 16th at 8 p.m. Show your Irish pride with Irish party favors and free face painting. The Shamrock will also be featuring Patty’s Day giveaways and Irish food specials, with the kitchen open all weekend long… But the celebration is not complete until you grab a tall glass of our special green beer!


Westy’s Irish Pub 
101 East Walnut Avenue

Westy’s will provide everything that you lads could want this weekend from great dinner specials to delicious drinks and live entertainment. Start off with their Tipperary Sharp Irish Cheddar with Long Hots appetizer and be sure to try the Irish Lamb Stew, Galway Salmon topped with sweet bay scallops and oysters and but o’ course their specialty Corned Beef and Cabbage! The Guest Bartenders will be serving up drink specials from shots, shakes and floats to their ever popular “Dirty Nellie.” Live DJ Entertainment all weekend long by DJ Mollo and DJ Jerry Smith and don’t miss John McNutt, The Keltic Rock Warrior, from 2 to 10 p.m. on Sunday!


Woody’s Place
18th & New Jersey Avenues

Join Woody’s Place for an amazing list of Irish drink & dinner specials all weekend long! With everything from Corned Beef and Cabbage with potatoes to Shepherd’s Pie with Corn Bread your taste buds will be more than satisfied. Drink specials will include Tully Shots and Five Irish Bombs …don’t miss out!
