Spend a "Wild" weekend with Woodrow Wilson
On October 30, 1912, Woodrow Wilson campaigned in Wildwood and stayed at the house of J. Thompson Baker. Five days later, he was elected to his first term as the 28th president of the United States.
The island will mark the 99th anniversary of this historic occasion with a variety of activities this weekend, presented by the Friends of the J. Thompson Baker Historical Home (3008 Atlantic Avenue).
Here's the daily rundown of events...
Friday, October 21
* Soup and sandwich supper from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. with guided tours at the Wildwood Historical Society (3907 Pacific Avenue)
Saturday, October 22
* Historical tours and a Victorian Tea at the J. Thompson Baker House from noon . - 1:30 p.m.
* Woodrow Wilson Dinner featuring a special guest speaker at the Baker Home, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday, October 23
* Open house, guided tours, and brunch at the Baker House, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Admission for the Saturday dinner is $35 and for other individual events from $12-$15.
