"Solar Bay Project" design concepts to be unveiled

Plans for the City of Wildwood's proposed "Solar Bay Project" will be unveiled tonight at the Community Advisory Board Meeting (7 p.m. at City Hall).

Representatives from Langan Engineering and Environmental Services will be on hand to present design concepts, which, according to a previous release, will "highlight the area's natural beauty."

Conceptual renderings will include a bike path and boat launch, in addition to other features discussed at a preliminary meeting on the subject in January.

"We want the project to be an interactive experience," said Mayor Gary DeMarzo. "We are hoping that our citizens will comment on the presentation and contribute some of their own ideas."

"This is a community project that will create tax relief, jobs and clean energy," he continued, "and the cost of the park will be paid for by the energy generated by the park. In the end, we will have taken more than 20 acres of distressed wetlands and restored them back to their natural state. This is truly a legacy project for the residents of Wildwood."

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and to contribute ideas to this project.

A presentation will also be given at the Board of Commissioners' meeting next Wednesday, February 23rd at 6:30 p.m.
