This is shaping up to be quite a summer for new haunted walk-through attractions on the Boardwalk.

First, Morey's Piers unveiled its $3 million Ghost Ship at Mariner's Landing to great fanfare over Memorial Day weekend. The ride has continued to evolve in the weeks since, with a new finale currently in the works.

Shortly after, Horror City debuted at the former location of Zombie World on the Strand Theatre block.

At present, another new walk-through is under construction at the north base of the old Sportland Pier in the structure that formerly housed Ed's Funcade 3. The as-of-yet unnamed attraction is expected to be open for business within the next few weeks.

Sportland is best remembered by dark ride enthusiasts and fans of haunted-theme attractions as the former home of Dr. Blood's House of Horrors and the Hell Hole.

The pier was sold by the Ramagosa family in the early 1980s and subsequently closed.
