Mega coaster concept inching closer to reality

According to a report in the Wildwood Leader - reposted at Shore News Today - the mega coaster being planned by Morey's Piers is now awaiting a CAFRA permit after gaining approvals from the Wildwood zoning board and North Wildwood planning board.

This will, presumably, be the final step before the physical work can begin toward bringing this spectacular concept to life. The state-of-the-art coaster is being designed to span two piers.

Beginning on Surfside Pier, it will then travel across the beach (between 26th & Juniper) and continue on Hunt's Pier, before eventually returning to Surfside.

Doran Clark of the Morey Organization has estimated that the project will take approximately one year "in fabrication" and one year of on-site construction. Given those estimates, the 2013 season figures to be a decent bet for the debut of this landmark attraction.

Stay tuned...
