The celebration of the first 100 years of history in Wildwood Crest kicks off today with an "Old Tyme" carnival at 1 p.m. at Crest pier.The event, which will feature carnival games, live entertainment, and much more, will kick off a series of festivities planned this summer to commemorate the borough's centennial.
Cape Shore Sweet Adelines will perform from 2:30 to 3:30. Other activities will include pie-eating and retro dance contests, pony rides, and a photo booth.
The book "The First Hundred Years..." will be available for sale, a tribute to the Crest's history to this point with info and vintage photos of the community.
