Boardwalk Reconstruction, Phase II completed

The second phase of the 10-year, block-by-block reconstruction of the Wildwood Boardwalk has been completed.

This year's project encompassed the area between Cedar and Oak Avenues, the only block on the Boardwalk that features retail units on both the west and east sides.

Reconstruction began last year, with the concrete walkway between Schellenger and Cedar being replaced by new planks made of ipe lumber. The project, presumably, will continue to move north next year, with the block between Oak and Pine set to be rebuilt.

The newest section will officially be dedicated on Friday, April 9 at 3 pm, with Mayor Gary DeMarzo presiding over a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
