New Hunt's Pier Attraction Taking Shape

(Photos courtesy of Michael Torres Jr.)

This winter, we have been closely following the development of a new amusement at Mariner's Landing (thought to be the long-awaited "Ghost Ship" ride) via Project 5292010.

But, that isn't the only new attraction set to debut on the piers for the upcoming season. On the south base of Hunt's Pier, the new "Mirror Maze" is beginning to take shape, with the frame of the structure now in place. Construction has been ongoing for about a month now.

The maze, which is expected to be open by Memorial Day weekend, is the first custom attraction to be built on Hunt's Pier since the Dinosaur Beach era of the mid to late-90's. In a true nod to history, the facade is being designed to echo the look of the pier's predecessor, the grand Ocean Pier (though obviously on a much smaller scale).

Ocean Pier was the first modern amusement pier in the Wildwoods, standing between Juniper & Poplar Avenues from 1905 to 1943, when it was destroyed by fire.
