DeMarzo: 20 Days to Decide

Wildwood Mayor Gary DeMarzo has 20 days to decide whether he wants to remain in office or "retain the appointed office of Wildwood police officer," after a state appellate panel ruled that he cannot continue holding both positions.

DeMarzo has been on an unpaid leave of absence from the police department since May 2007, when he won a seat on the city's three-member commission.

He ascended to his current position after former mayor Ernie Troiano and fellow commissioner Bill Davenport were recalled back in December. After Al Brannen and Chip Harshaw were elected to fill the vacant posts, DeMarzo was chosen as the new Mayor.
