Buckley Signs On With Kona Sports

Rising surf star and Morristown, NJ native Brendan Buckley has signed a sponsorship agreement with Kona Sports.

The following is an excerpt from the official press release:

“Buck is one of the most innovative surfers to come out of the east coast and we feel he is a perfect fit for our team and what we stand for as a shop,” says Josh Wilson, surf team manager for Kona. “We couldn’t be more excited about the acquisition and we look forward to supporting him with his travels in 2010 and years to follow.”

About Buckley:
Buckley spends his time in Belmar, NJ when not circling the globe with the ERGO team or the Spectacular Adventures Crew. He is not typically a contest surfer, but is a threat in any heat due to his unpredictable attack. His sponsors include: ERGO, AJW Surfboards, Smith, Sanuk, Freak, Kona Sports and Christopher Bean Coffee.

About Kona:
Kona Sports, a retail specialty shop and online leader was established in 1970 by Mike Scierra, whose passion for simply building surfboards in his garage has transformed into the largest surf shop in southern New Jersey. Mike and his sons, Brendan and Chris, wanted to get back to their original roots and have given surf team manager, Josh Wilson, the ability to build a team that will compliment its thriving retail and online business they have built.
