Boardwalk Reconstruction Set To Continue

Phase II of the Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction project will begin next Monday, December 7. Work will take place between Oak and Cedar Aves., and is expected to be wrapped up by Easter weekend, when the Boardwalk "opens" for the season.

Businesses on this block of the Boardwalk include Lime Ricky World, Jilly's, and two Hot Spot locations on the east side and Harry's Corner, Seaport Aquarium, and James' Salt Water Taffy on the west side.

The city will continue to use Ipe wood (a type of tropical hardwood), as it did for Phase I of the process last offseason, which replaced the concrete walkway between Cedar and Schellenger Aves. (pictured, left)

The reconstruction project is scheduled to take place over a 10-year span. Phase III is expected to take place next year, likely from Oak Ave. north to Wildwood Ave.

  1. I thought they were going to redo the boardwalk down past where the castle used to sit and have another wildwood entrance at the front of it? NO?
