WBID plans September 11th ceremony in Downtown Wildwood

PRESS RELEASE

WILDWOOD - The annual September 11, 2001 Remembrance Ceremony will be held at Byrne Plaza in Downtown Wildwood on Wednesday, September 11 at 1 pm.

The Wildwood Business Improvement District (WBID) hosts this observance each year to honor and remember the 2,977 people who were killed, and thousands who were injured, by the September 11, 2001 attack on the United States of America.

The ceremony also honors the thousands of Ground Zero first responders who have died over the past 23 years due to 9/11-related illnesses.

This year's ceremony will include 9/11 first responders, representatives from the City of Wildwood Fire and Police Departments, as well as local religious and civic leaders. In addition to the speakers, the City of Wildwood Fire Department will present "Ringing of the Bell" and the City of Wildwood Honor Guard will Present the Colors.

Everyone is encouraged to attend to commemorate that tragic day that we vowed never to forget.

Byrne Plaza is located at 3400 Pacific Avenue in Downtown Wildwood. Free parking is available in the parking lots behind the shops on the east side of Pacific Avenue (between Schellenger and Oak Avenues) and on the west side of Pacific Avenue (between Oak and Wildwood Avenues).
