Ready to burn some calories ahead of that big family dinner, while supporting a great cause?
The 2023 TJ Hunt Memorial Turkey Trot is set for Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 23, in Wildwood Crest.
There are two options for participation: a 5K run that loops from Crest Pier (5800 Ocean Avenue) to the Wildwood Boardwalk or a 1-mile walk that along the Wildwood Crest Bike Path.
The event is open to all ages (and leashed dogs). Entry is $30 for adults and $10 for those under 18. Registration starts at 8 am, with the race beginning promptly at 9 am.
Afterwards, all participants are invited to a post-race cocktail hour at MudHen Brewing Company on Rio Grande Avenue in Wildwood. Those who register for the Trot will receive an official event t-shirt and free drink ticket upon arrival.
The Turkey Trot honors the memory of TJ Hunt, a beloved member of the local community who passed away in 2020 at age 20. All proceeds from the event, organized by the Hunt family, help fund scholarships and efforts to help other families who have experienced a traumatic event.
