The 13th Annual Bonfire on the Beach is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, from 6 - 10 pm at 1st & Surf Avenues in North Wildwood.
Admission will be $10 (children under 12 are $2 each).
Sponsored by the Anglesea Irish Society and Greater Wildwood Jaycees, the event will feature live music, with food and refreshments available for purchase. Those attending are encouraged to bring a chair and/or blanket, and to dress appropriately.
Saturday’s forecast looks a bit sketchy, with potential highs in the mid-60's, lows near 50 degrees and a 40 percent chance of rain earlier in the day, per the National Weather Service.
The rain date for the bonfire is Saturday, November 4.
For over a decade now, this event has offered a fun, family-oriented opportunity for locals and visitors to unwind upon the conclusion of the extended tourism season. Last weekend, the Wildwoods played host to ‘50s, ‘60s & ‘70s Weekend, which traditionally signals the conclusion of the island’s major events calendar.
The majority of seasonal businesses, including Morey’s Piers, are now closed until Spring 2024.
The Bonfire on the Beach marks the passage into the holiday season, with a number of festive, community-centered events set for the weeks to come.
