PRESS RELEASE

NORTH WILDWOODLong established restaurant on the North Wildwood nightlife strip, Flip Flopz, is looking to take their image to the next level this summer. Since 2007, Flip Flopz has been known as one of the best bars on Olde New Jersey Avenue with a large bar and grill on the first floor and rooftop pool and bar upstairs.

This year, Flip Flopz is hoping to show customers that they’re “more than just a bar.”

Chef Robert Burns joined the team as executive chef and he has created a refreshed menu for the restaurant. Notable dishes include colossal shrimp coated in bourbon sauce, large fried flounder topped with bruschetta, fresh cut NY strip steaks, and a variety of daily specials each better than the day before.

The restaurant didn’t forget to add specials, and there are plenty. Happy hour is offered Monday-Friday from 3-7 PM. Martini Mondays offers a menu of $7 martinis, Tijuana Tuesdays has $7.50 house margaritas and Mexican dinner specials, and Wine Down Wednesdays offers $15 bottles of wine with dinner.

Chef Burns is hopeful the features of the restaurant-open air venue with indoor and outdoor seating, family friendly atmosphere, and a team of welcoming staff- will add on to make a great season for the restaurant.

“I think what makes Flip Flopz different from other places on the strip is the ambiance,” said Burns, “It’s nice to see a happy guest enjoying the space and giving good feedback to the kitchen. People can expect a lot of fresh, locally sourced fish and produce, as well as high quality steaks.”

With 27 years experience, Burns’ resume includes The Old Homestead and Speccio at the Borgata, Oyster Creek Inn in Leeds Point, and A Ca Mia in Cape May and more. Chef Robert is a gold medal winner for the State vocational competition, V.I.C.A, under the tutelage of Chef Bob Johnston, and he later went on to represent New Jersey on a national level in Kansas City.

Food isn’t the only thing customers can expect to enjoy.

Flip Flopz offers a complete drink menu with the classics and specialities. A fan favorite, the Mango Tango, offers a refreshing cool down with a relaxing kick after a long day at the beach. Frozen classics top the most requested drink at the bar with pina colada, strawberry daiquiris and dirty bananas all on the menu.

Upstairs at Tiki Topz a rooftop bar and pool are open every day with pool parties every Saturday at 2 PM. Tiki Topz is known for its younger crowd, but guests of all ages are encouraged to have a drink and relax. Service is available to the lounge chairs and Chef Burns has created a separate bar menu for Tiki Topz.

“No matter where you are in our building you are guaranteed to have fun,” said owner Joseph Mahoney. “I want everyone to come in and try our new menu, even if they’ve been here before, and see what a great improvement we made here. Plus we have live entertainment every Thursday with Split Decision, and DJ Gabor every Friday, DJ Robi1 every Saturday and a whole schedule of live bands."

Flip Flopz is located on the corner of Spruce and Olde New Jersey Avenues. Open daily at 11 AM, the restaurant serves lunch and starts dinner at 4 PM. The kitchen closes at 9 PM.
