Sticks in the Sand Beach Hockey Tournament, featuring East Coast teams competing on the Wildwoods beaches - July 23-24

THE WILDWOODS - Youth athletes can play field hockey in a new and exciting way - on the world famous Wildwoods beaches - when the Sticks in the Sand Beach Hockey Tournament comes to the island Saturday July 23 and Sunday, July 24.

The tournament takes place on the beach at Schellenger Avenue, next to Morey's Mariner's Landing Pier, from 9 am - 5 pm on Saturday and from 9 am - 4 pm on Sunday.

Teams from all over the East Coast and beyond will compete on the Wildwoods beaches as well as enjoy the water parks and beach during the day and the famous Wildwoods Boardwalk and amusements in the evening.

Games are five versus five, with four players on the field plus a goalie, with a maximum of 10 players per team. Each game consists of two 12-minute halves with a running clock. Fields are 30 yards by 50 yards, and the games are played with a larger rubber ball. Each team will play a minimum of five games in their division.

Divisions include middle school, high school JV, high school varsity, women's 18+, and co-ed open.
