Wildwood seeks public support for recreation grant


The City of Wildwood is asking for the public’s help in securing funds for much-needed upgrades at the Byrne Community Center (406 W. Youngs Avenue).

The Wildwood Recreation Department is applying to the Cape May County Open Space Board for a grant to build a new playground and fitness track with outdoor workout stations.

These would be the first major upgrades at the community center, which opened in October 2008.

“Having a playground and new fitness facility at the BBC are necessary for improving not only recreational opportunities for the surrounding neighborhoods, but also the quality of life for those who make their homesand are raising their families here,” Wildwood Parks & Recreation explained in an official release.

Additionally, the city has scheduled a meeting at 10 am on Wednesday, November 25 to solicit imput on the official application.
