Arcades may re-open at 25 percent capacity on July 2nd

As expected, Governor Phil Murphy announced another round of re-openings at his daily press briefing this afternoon, including museums, aquariums and indoor recreation.

He specifically mentioned boardwalk arcades, which will be allowed to operate at 25 percent capacity starting Thursday, July 2.

Advisement on specific protocols and rules is forthcoming.

Today's news is particularly welcome to local businesses and tourism officials as the re-opening date precedes the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Yesterday, Murphy announced that amusement parks and water parks would also be able to begin welcoming guests on July 2, at 50 percent capacity.
