Firemen’s Convention 2020 has been CANCELLED; parade and other weekend events pending

The Wildwoods event calendar has been dealt another major blow, due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

This morning, the executive committee of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Associstion voted unanimously to cancel its 2020 convention, one of the annual highlights of the resort’s fall season.

Firemen’s Weekend, including convection, parade and other events, was to take place September 18-20.

A statement on the NJSFA’s official website reads:

“The Executive Committee held a special meeting today, 5/30 and voted 21-0 to cancel the 2020 Convention and incorporate the necessary voting at “walk through” county caucuses.”

Next year’s convention weekend is planned for September 17-19, 2021.
