Barefoot County Music Fest “postponed”; four-day event announced for 2021

Originally slated for June 19-21, 2020, BCMF will now take place June 17-20, 2021 on the beach in Wildwood, New Jersey. A special kickoff concert honoring healthcare and other frontline workers in the battle against COVID-19 is scheduled for Thursday, June 24, expanding BCMF to a four-day event.

Barefoot Country Music Fest (BCMF) organizers, in coordination with Wildwood government officials and healthcare personnel, announced today the postponement of BCMF until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
BCMF ticket holders can roll over their tickets to 2021, donate tickets to COVID-19 frontline workers, or request a refund at bcmfest.com. BCMF will donate 500 festival tickets to healthcare personnel on the frontline of the fight against CVOID-19.

Organizers originally hoped to reschedule BCMF for later this year, but that became increasingly challenging due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19.

“Based on the outpouring of support from fans and the Wildwood community, we’ve worked tirelessly with artists’ management and the city since mid-March to find an alternate weekend for BCMF this year. During this process, the COVID-19 landscape changed yet again,” said Rob Pedlow of Barefoot Country Music Fest.

“We’re heartbroken over what’s happening throughout the country and disappointed BCMF will not happen in 2020, but felt it was the best decision to protect the health and safety of fans, the Wildwood community, artists and BCMF staff. We’re grateful for Mayor Pete Byron, the incredible City of Wildwood team, and especially the fans that made this inaugural event a near-sellout before the pandemic. We’re getting to work on BCMF 2021 and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone next June.”

Wildwood Mayor Pete Byron stated, “While we are disappointed that the Barefoot Country Music Fest had to be postponed this summer, we greatly appreciate all of the hard work and effort that went into planning the festival. We look forward to an even bigger and better festival in 2021. On behalf of myself and the Commissioners, we look forward to celebrating this one-of-a-kind experience with our community and visitors in the not-so-distant future."

Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, and Lynyrd Skynyrd were on tap to headline Barefoot Country Music Fest, and are in discussions to perform at next year’s event. Festival organizers will announce performers for BCMF 2021 in the coming months.
