Joint statement from Wildwoods officials regarding COVID-19

The following is a joint statement regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) released today by the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA), along with the City of North Wildwood, the City of Wildwood, the Borough of Wildwood Crest and the Borough of West Wildwood...

The health and well-being of those living, visiting and working in the Wildwoods, NJ are of the utmost importance to us. We have been monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak throughout the United States and the State of New Jersey very closely.

Currently, there are no official restrictions on travel in the U.S. All current travel restrictions are specific to travel from countries with pronounced coronavirus outbreaks. Federal public health officials have repeated frequently that it is safe for healthy people to travel in the U.S.

All official coronavirus related travel guidance is directed at specific vulnerable demographics, including the elderly, and people with serious underlying health conditions. Additionally, despite the State of New Jersey issuing a State of Emergency, currently there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus)in the Wildwoods or in Cape May County, NJ .

We encourage all residents, employees and visitors to practice good hygiene, and ask that anyone who is sick or showing any symptoms or has a weakened immune system to stay home.

We highly recommend that all visitors, employees and businesses follow the protocols regarding illness prevention, including the CDC's recommendation of everyday preventative actions to stop the spread of germs, which will contribute to a safe and healthy experience for all:
