Mudhen Brewery donates proceeds from opening to fund historical society's new roof

Shout-out to the new Mudhen Brewing Company, which recently donated all the proceeds from ticket sales to its grand opening to the Wildwood Historical Society!

Owner Brendan Sciarra has given $1,400 to fund the George F. Boyer Museum's new roof, a necessary update expected to be finished next month.

From the historical society's Facebook page:

Recently opened, Mudhen Brewing Company pays homage to Wildwood's history in everything from the names of its brews to the restoration of an iconic building. "Mud Hen" was the name of the first train to carry passengers over the wetlands of Grassy Sound to Anglesea, It earned that name because, at high tide, the tracks would shift and derail the train, which would get stuck in the mud until the tides changed.

The Mudhen Brewery team rescued a piece of Wildwood architecture, the art deco storefront that once housed Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. Inside the brewery are vintage photos of Wildwood rail, and even the neon "Wildwood" sign that once graced the building's marquee.

Thank you, Mudhen, for supporting the George F. Boyer Museum and helping to keep Wildwood's history from being forgotten!
