6ABC Action News correspondent Vernon Odom filed a report from the
Boardwalk Mall this evening, discussing efforts to preserve the
Wyland's Whaling Wall mural.
Necessary repairs to mall's the north-facing wall have placed the future of the popular, 25-year-old mural in jeopardy. The building itself, the former
Regent Theater, dates back to the 1920's.
Included were interviews with
Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano and
Russell Simmons of the Wildwood Arts Foundation, who states that at least a portion of the original artwork will be able to be preserved.
