Wildwood Offers Free Movies on the Beach

PRESS RELEASE

A summer of cinema is being offered to residents and visitors as Wildwood premiers its newest beach attraction – FREE Movies on the Beach!

“This is going to be a great season,” said Ryan Troiano of the city’s Department of Beach Services.

“We have a great list of movies lined up, starting with our July 7 first feature – ‘Jaws.’”

Moviegoers can bring their beach chairs and blankets to the sand on the south side of the Wildwoods Convention Center and enjoy an evening of entertainment.

Each feature begins at dusk, around 8:45, said Troiano.

TD Bank, the official sponsor of the July movies, will be on the beach for giveaways and promotions.

Presented by the City of Wildwood Beach Services, Movies on the Beach will take place every Tuesday night from July 7 through Aug. 25, with the following movies scheduled:

July 7 “Jaws”
July 14 “Paddington”
July 21 “Frozen”
July 28 “Planes – Fire and Rescue”
Aug. 4  TBA – in conjunction with National Night Out
Aug. 11 “Big Hero 6”
Aug. 18 “Home”
Aug. 25 “Guardians of the Galaxy”

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this outstanding lineup of movies,” said Commissioner Pete Byron who oversees the city’s beach services.

“With so many different amenities now offered on our beach, it’s bringing a new energy not only to the beach, but to the entire city.”

“We hope to see as many people as we can on the beach,” Troiano said. “As the season progresses we will be adding fire pits and concessions. Watching a movie while sitting on the sand with the ocean nearby, roasting marshmallows and eating popcorn with the stars above, is the perfect way to spend an evening.”
