NJ State Firemen's Convention schedule of events

We're smack in the middle of what we like to call the "Big Three" event weekends of September.

The roar of the motorcycle engines has faded and the Irish (and Irish-at-heart) are still resting up for their annual céilidh  (can't forget the classic cars next weekend, too).

In other words, it's time for the firemen to take center stage!

Here's the schedule of events for this weekend's NJ State Firemen's Convention, hosted by the Five Mile Beach Volunteer Firemen's Association...


Thursday, Sept. 12th

The Burn Foundation Benefit Golf Tournament


Friday, Sept. 13th

NJ Fire Expo - Apparatus and Equipment Display
Montgomery & Ocean Aves.
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Firefighters' Weekend Craft Show
Sunrise Park (Rambler & Ocean Aves.)
9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Convention Session #1 - Wildwoods Convention Center
Registration:  9:30 am. - 12:30 p.m.
Called to Order:  1 p.m.

Fireworks on the Beach
8 p.m. at Pine Avenue
Visible from just about everywhere on the island


Saturday, Sept. 14th

NJ Fire Expo - Apparatus and Equipment Display
Montgomery & Ocean Aves.
8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Convention Session #2 - Wildwoods Convention Center
Registration:  7:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.
Called to Order:  10 a.m.

Firefighters' Weekend Craft Show

9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

NJ Fire Convention Parade
Along New Jersey Avenue - Starts at Cresse Ave. and heads north to 20th Avenue
Step off:  2 p.m.

Philadelphia Police vs. Fire

Memorial game to honor and benefit the family of late Philadelphia Fire Captain Michael Goodwin
Maxwell Field (Youngs Ave. & Park Blvd.)
12 p.m. - Admittance is a $5 donation
