If there is one weekend that quintessentially highlights the diversity of the Wildwoods' event s calendar - this is it!
While the Irish party on in Anglesea and the Boardwalk is transformed into a classic car showplace, the less-frenetic atmosphere of the Crest Seafarers' Celebration perfectly captures the communal spirit of the island's southern third.
Seafarers' has become one of the Crest's signature events, so popular that it has been expanded to a two-day festival for the first time this year.
The borough's "farewell to summer" kicks off this evening at 7 p.m. with a performance by the Chatterband at Centennial Park (Fern Road & Ocean Avenue).
This will be followed by a free beachfront fireworks show at 9 p.m. (which, if we're not mistaken, will be the last fireworks display on the island this year.
The celebration continues tomorrow with an all-day street festival along the banks of Sunset Lake, on New Jersey Avenue between Rambler & Miami Avenues.
Activities will include crafts, vendors, children's contests and games, and more FREE live entertainment...
