Animal shelters in need of post-storm help, too

The displacement of many residents by Hurricane Sandy has led to a number of challenges for animal shelters throughout the state.

As families and individuals have moved to shelters, motels, and other temporary housing, some have sadly been forced to give up their pets. This has left many shelters full and overwhelmed.

Thus, there is presently a great need for foster pet families (both temporary and permanent).

We are working with animal shelters in various regions to identify further needs and potential solutions. More information will be included in a follow-up post shortly.

In the meantime, if you are interested in adopting a pet displaced by Sandy, have donations of food/supplies in mind, or are simply looking for another way to help now, here's a list of animal shelters and resources in Cape May County...
