Boardwalk Reconstruction Project Wins NJ Engineering Award

According to a City of Wildwood press release, the town has been selected as the Honor Place recipient in the Municipal Construction Projects category by the New Jersey Society of Municipal Engineers.

The award will be presented on November 18 in Atlantic City for the successful completion of Phase 1 of the Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction project, which encompassed a complete reconstruction of the Boardwalk between Cedar and Schellenger Avenues last offseason.

“Wildwood is very proud to have been selected for this prestigious honor,” said Wildwood Mayor Ernie in the release. “The Boardwalk, like much of the city’s infrastructure, is in terrible condition. Previously, that section of the Boardwalk could barely hold a pickup truck. Now, all emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and ambulances, are able to access that heavily trafficked area.”
