New hop-on, hop-off shuttle connects the Wildwoods to Cape May's wineries, breweries and ferry

PRESS RELEASE

CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJA new hop-on hop-off shuttle service is coming to Lower Cape May County just in time for this summer. The Coastal Cruiser, powered by Metropolis Passenger Logistics, is connecting visitors and locals alike from the famous The Wildwoods to Cape May and back without worrying about driving or finding parking.

This new shuttle will have stops at the region’s most popular wineries, breweries and distilleries, as well as at the Cape May Lewes Ferry. It will also use technology to its fullest by allowing riders to track where the shuttle is in real time.

This inaugural year, The Coastal Cruiser will only run on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 am to 10 pm. A day pass costs $40 in advance or $45 at the shuttle (with a multi-day purchase discount) which will run from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.

“Having been a homeowner in Wildwood for a few years now, I realized that there was a disconnect of commuter services and transit services between the shore towns like Cape May and Wildwood, said Michael Barreto, Founder & President at Metropolis Passenger Logistics. “I felt that there is a huge demand in these communities for micro-shuttles and I’m excited that we can create this opportunity.”

Christina Renna, President & CEO of the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey added, "Mass transportation has always been one of southern New Jersey's most impeding service gaps, and Metropolis Passenger Logistics is addressing it in a way that makes immediate sense for this region.”

She continues. “A shuttle loop connecting Cape May's wineries, the Ferry, and Wildwood's most visited destinations isn't just a convenience, it's an economic asset for every business along that corridor. We're thrilled to see this kind of entrepreneurial thinking being applied to a challenge our region has lived with for a long time."

There will be continuous multiple shuttles running each day, one will launch from the Wildwood Boardwalk and the other from downtown Cape May at the Cape May Rotary Park. The Coastal Cruiser route brings riders directly to fan-favorite destinations including Hawk Haven Vineyard, Cape May Winery, Willow Creek Winery, Turdo Vineyards, Nauti Spirits, Cape May Brewery (tastings at the Cape May Municipal Airport), Mudhen Brewery, and Behr Brewing Company.

The shuttle also includes stops at the Cape May–Lewes Ferry to connect people to the shore in Delaware if they like. With one flat daily fee, riders can hop on and off throughout the day to enjoy tastings, sightseeing, shopping, and shore exploring at their own pace.

“We are excited to welcome Coastal Cruiser to our community as they launch for Summer 2026,” said Tracey DuFault, President/CEO of Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce. “This new service will provide our visitors and guests with safe, reliable transportation to local wineries and other shore destinations, enhancing their overall vacation experience. It’s a wonderful collaboration between small businesses committed to creating the perfect guest experience.”

Barreto added, “Coastal Cruiser is designed to make discovering the Shore’s craft beverage scene and local attractions simple, social, and stress-free. Whether you're visiting for the weekend or live nearby, this experience allows you to enjoy everything Lower Cape May County has to offer — without the need to get behind the wheel.”

Shuttles arrive every 20 to 30 minutes at each stop and can be tracked in real time through a live mobile app, giving riders flexibility to build their own day-trip itinerary. They will be air conditioned and have bike racks for riders. The micro-shuttle model also offers a more environmentally friendly way to travel between destinations, reducing emissions per passenger compared to single-rider taxis or rideshares.

The Coastal Cruiser will run on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 10 pm beginning Memorial Day Weekend and ending Labor Day Weekend. A hop-on hop-off ticket can be booked in advance or on-site/on demand using an easy-to-use custom-built app.

Tickets will cost $40 in advance or $45 at the shuttle. If a rider purchases multiple days, there is a $5 discount on each additional day after the first. Riders are permitted to carry-on one bag if needed (following standard TSA guidelines for a carry-on bag) with additional bags costing $25 each. There is also a $35 fee per bike if a rider would like to have their bike with them.
