Wildwood Historical Society open for the season, book signing to come

WILDWOOD - Following a sleepy winter at the Wildwood Historical Society, the George F. Boyer Museum is ready for a busy summer!

Now open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm (until Labor Day), the Boyer Museum is located at 3907 Pacific Avenue in Downtown Wildwood, and is the perfect stop for all lovers of Wildwood. 

Entry is FREE and the museum is accessible to all.

"From lovers of grand Victorian homes to military history buffs and horror fans, to kids who want to see pictures of alligator wrestling on the Boardwalk, anyone could spend hours here on a rainy day," said museum manager Julia Ittah. 

Volunteers and staff members have worked tirelessly throughout the winter to keep the museum's archive of Wildwood photographs and memorabilia organized, clean and updated with our most recent Wildwood finds and donations. 

The museum's latest addition comes from the Wildwood Civic Club, which donated a 1935 1st Place Baby Parade trohpy!

The museum's gift shop is also home to several new pieces, including a custom Wildwood Bars t-shirt, a reuseable Wildwood tote bag and handmade puzzles to come. All profits benefit the historical society, which is a non-profit organization that is independent of the City of Wildwood.

Donations are greatly appreciated!

"With the help of our supporters and work of our volunteers, the Wildwood Historical Society is proud to celebrate 61 years of collecting, protecting and preserving the history of this great town," said Wildwood Historical Society President Taylor Henry, "and we can't wait to continue to do so for years to come."

On July 17, the historical society will be hosting a book signing at the Boyer Museum for Frederick Acker's Jewel of the Sea, a thrilling novel about a vigilante based in Wildwood and Cape May. Stop by and explore the seemingly endless collection of Wildwood artifacts and historic photos while you chat with a fiction author!
