Fall in Love with the Wildwoods this Autumn

THE WILDWOODS - As the summer winds down, the Wildwoods refuse to let the fun fade away by eagerly welcoming the highly anticipated "Wildwoods' Second Season" in the fall.

This one-of-a-kind route stretches from Diamond Beach at the far southern tip of the island and continues onto the Wildwood Crest Dunes Bike Path, up onto the Wildwoods Boardwalk to North Wildwood's Mulberry Bike Path to the North Wildwood Sea Wall.

Labor Day Weekend Events

September 1 - Wildwoods Boardwalk Friday Night Fireworks
Kick off Labor Day Weekend on the Wildwoods Boardwalk as you enjoy a spectacular fireworks show starting at 10 p.m. The fireworks are launched from the beach at Pine Avenue and are synchronized to music that plays over the Wildwoods Boardwalk sound system. For more information visit DOOWW.com.

September 2-3 – Labor Day Weekend Boardwalk Craft Show
Shop homemade crafts, boutique items, gifts, food and more made by local and regional artisans at the Labor Day Weekend Boardwalk Craft Show. This event is FREE to attend and will be hosted on the boardwalk starting on Rio Grande Avenue on Saturday, September 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is rain or shine. September 2 – Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series: Damn the Torpedoes
Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series takes place at Centennial Park, located on Fern Road and Ocean Avenue in Wildwood Crest. At 7 p.m. This FREE live music event is fun for the entire family. September 2 – Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market
The Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market is Celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2023! The Farmers Market takes place in Byrne Plaza and the surrounding area (from 3400 to 3501 Pacific Avenue). September 8-10 – Morey’s Piers Fall Beach Jam
The ultimate camping experience comes to the Wildwoods beaches during Morey’s Piers’ Fall Beach Jam, Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 10! Scouts from around the country camp on the beach in Wildwood between Schellenger Avenue and Spencer Avenue. There is an entrance fee for participants. September 8-10 – North Wildwood Surf Fishing Competition
North Wildwood hosts the 53rd annual Surf Fishing Competition Friday, September 8, and Saturday, September 9, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday September 10 from 7-11 a.m. Registration is held at the Gazebo at 3rd Avenue & JFK Boulevard in North Wildwood. September 9 – New Year’s in North Wildwood
Get up-close views of the beautiful costumes and intricate dance steps as the top Mummers String Bands from the New Year’s Day Parade in Philadelphia parade along Olde New Jersey Avenue on Saturday, September 10. September 10 – Roots Classic Volkswagen Car Show
Join the community for the second annual Roots Classic Volkswagen Car Show – A laid-back, family-friendly weekend dedicated to the grassroots of the VW community. Indoor judged Pre-2K VW show at the Wildwoods Convention Center, including community-driven pre-2K relevant vendors with outdoor water-cooled & air-cooled areas from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 10. Show cars are by approval; register on www.RootsClassic.com. Relive the nostalgia of back in the day with pre-show get togethers, BBQs, cruises, and hangs throughout the weekend. September 10 – Your First Mud Run
Your First Mud Run is the best race in the country for families and first-timers. Races are challenging but can still be completed by almost anyone. This is the first Mud Run/Obstacle course in the country designed so kids as young as five can run side by side with their parents on the same course. There are 12 to 15 obstacles at every event, as well as a brand-new, super fun obstacle. Sign up the whole family or team and raise money for your favorite cause. September 11 – North Wildwood September 11 Commemoration

September 11 – Wildwood September 11 Remembrance Ceremony
On Monday, September 11 at 10:30 a.m., a September 11  Remembrance Ceremony will take place at Byrne Plaza, 3400 Pacific Avenue in Downtown Wildwood. Organized by the Wildwood Business Improvement District (WBID) for the past several years, the ceremony will honor and remember our fellow Americans who were killed on that tragic day, and the first responders who have died over the past 20 years due to 9/11 related illnesses. The ceremony will include 9/11 First Responders, representatives from the City of Wildwood Fire and Police Departments, and local religious and civic leaders. In addition to the speakers, The City of Wildwood Fire Department will present “Ringing of the Bell” and “Presenting of the Colors” by the City of Wildwood Honor Guard. Everyone is encouraged to attend  so that tragic day is never forgotten. September 11 – Wildwood Crest 9/11 Memorial Service

September 14-16 – New Jersey State Firemen’s Convention and Parade
The Annual Convention of the New Jersey State Firemen and Life Members at the Wildwoods Convention Center, featuring meetings, seminars and voting takes place Thursday, September 14 through Saturday, September 16. Firetrucks from around the state will be displayed in the Wildwoods Convention Center parking lots, and merchandise vendors can be found across the street at Fox Park. Apparatus and equipment display times are Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. The Firemen’s Parade will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. along New Jersey Avenue from Cresse Avenue in Wildwood Crest, proceeding north to 26th Avenue in North Wildwood. September 15-16 – Wildwood Crest Firefighters’ Weekend Craft Show

September 16 – New! El Festival – Hispanic Heritage Celebration
The First Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration – El Festival, will take place at Byrne Plaza (3400 Pacific Avenue) from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Enjoy music from DJ Chino and live band, Eco del Sur! September 16 – NEW! Muddy Schnitzel Family Fun Run
Lace up your sneaks and prepare to get muddy in Morey’s Piers first annual Muddy Schnitzel, a family mud run on the beach between Mariner’s and Adventure Piers. The course is about 1 mile long and features over a dozen obstacles, including water pits, an army crawl, king of the dune, and tube scramble. Families will have a blast navigating the course together and racing to the finish, where every participant will be awarded a finisher medal! September 16 – Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series: Gypsy Wisdom

September 22-24 – Fall Classic Car Show
The Wildwoods Fall Classic Car Show is returning to the world-famous boardwalk from Friday, September 22 to Sunday, September 24! As the sun rises over the Atlantic Ocean, the sound of revving engines fills the air, signaling the start of a weekend filled with classic cars, hot rods, and vintage vehicles. The boardwalk is transformed into a dazzling display of chrome and steel as hundreds of cars line up in rows, gleaming in the sunlight. Car enthusiasts and curious onlookers gather around, admiring these automotive marvels’ sleek curves and shiny exteriors. The air is filled with the aroma from the boardwalk restaurants as the boardwalk opens, offering snacks and souvenirs to visitors. The sounds of classic rock and roll music blast from speakers, adding to the festive atmosphere. As the sun lowers over the ocean, the cars roll out, one by one, cruising down the boardwalk and showing off their horsepower. September 22-24 – Annual Irish Fall Festival
The East Coast’s largest Irish Festival returns to the Wildwoods Friday, September 22 through Sunday, September 24. Held along Olde New Jersey Avenue and surrounding pubs in North Wildwood from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily, the Wildwoods Irish Festival celebrates Irish heritage with dancing, music, food, and craft vendors daily. Other festivities include a Team USA vs. Team Ireland Amateur Boxing, a golf tournament, Irish dance lessons, a 5k run and 1 mile walk, a pipe exhibition, a food court, and Catholic Mass. The events conclude on Sunday with a parade on Surf Avenue from 20th to Spruce and Olde New Jersey Avenues. September 23 – Wildwood Crest Seafarers Celebration
Enjoy a massive street festival featuring scores of craft and food vendors, children’s entertainment, live music and more during the annual Wildwood Crest Seafarers Celebration. September 29 – October 1 – “Monsters on the Beach” Monster Truck Races & Truck Pulls
A popular staple of the Wildwoods’ “second season” is gearing up for a big comeback in 2023! “Monsters on the Beach” Monster Truck Races & Truck Pulls will take over the beach at Lincoln Avenue, Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1. The event returns, with an expanded format, after a 3-year absence. The weekend will consist of three shows – two on Saturday (1 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.), and one on Sunday (1 p.m.). On Friday night, a meet and greet opportunity with the drivers will be held. Each show will feature Monster Truck race and freestyle events, Tough Truck racing and a new addition – Diesel Truck pulling exhibitions. Single-show, combo tickets and weekend passes are on sale now. “Monsters on the Beach” is presented by JSM Productions LLC, organizers of the Wildwoods Spring & Fall Classic Car Shows. The Monster Truck lineup for the event (always subject to change) includes Toxic, Be Aware, Illuminator, Shockwave and Storm Damage. October 8 - The Wildwoods Food & Music Festival
Formerly known as Wildwoods Seafood and Music Festival, the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce presents a food and music street fair on Sunday, October 8 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. The festival will feature a full day of fantastic food options, music, shopping and more. The festival will take place in Downtown Wildwood, starting at Byrne Plaza along Pacific Avenue between Oak and Schellenger Avenues in Wildwood. The festival will include live music, delicious food, messy pie-eating contests, craft vendors and much more. The festival will provide fun for the kids with a “Kids Korner,” open from noon – 5 p.m., featuring games, pumpkin painting, and inflatable bounce houses. The Festival is FREE to attend. October 13-14 – Wildwoods ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s Weekend
Join us for this fabulous weekend of fun, nostalgia, and great music! Friday night features a ’50s, ‘60s & ‘70s dance party at the Wildwoods Convention Center from 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. featuring The Cameos. Tickets are $20 per person. A FREE street fair will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Fox Park featuring food and craft vendors, live entertainment, a Doo Wop Bus Tour, and a classic car show in the Wildwoods Convention Center Circle from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Saturday night’s concert in the Wildwoods Convention Center begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m. This year, The Miracles, The Temptations featuring the legacy of Dennis Edwards, and The 5th Dimension will perform at the Saturday Night Concert, hosted by The Voice of Tribute Tommy C.

October 21-23 – Wildwoods RV Show
South Jersey’s largest indoor end-of-year LIQUIDATION SALE will be held inside the Wildwoods Convention Center, featuring the top brand recreational vehicles from New Jersey’s largest RV dealers including Dylan’s RV Center, Driftwood RV Center, Whitehorse RV Center, and Cross Roads Trailers. There will also be many vendors for all your RV needs. Admission is TBA. October 28 – Greater Wildwood Elks Halloween Haunted House
Bring your trick-or-treaters to the Greater Wildwood Elks Lodge, and receive delicious Halloween treats as you walk through the “haunted house” at the Lodge, 109 West 1st Avenue, in North Wildwood. October 29 – North Wildwood Trunk-or-Treat Block Party
Join in the Halloween family fun at the annual North Wildwood Trunk-or-Treat Block Party, held along Olde NJ Avenue in North Wildwood! Vehicle check-in is at 4:30 p.m., and the event is from 5:30-7 p.m. Enjoy music, magic, balloon twisting and more! Families are encouraged to bring their vehicles decorated for Halloween. Children will come in costume and visit each car, where families will provide treats from the trunks of their cars. There will be no judging of the children’s costumes, but prizes will be awarded to the best-decorated vehicles. Registration is free and forms are available at 900 Central Avenue in North Wildwood or at City Hall. All vehicles participating in the event must be registered. November 12 – Spirit Brands Cheerleading Championships
The Wildwoods Convention Center will host a day of amazing aerial and acrobatic feats during the Spirit Brands Cheerleading Championships from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (times are subject to change). Cheerleading events will be open to all rec and school programs that are members of the American Recreation and School Cheer Association. This entertaining and exciting event will include recreation, high school, college and all-star divisions, featuring teams from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware and beyond. All teams will compete on a 54’ by 42’ spring floor and will perform incredible stunts in hopes of winning the judges’ votes. All performances will be choreographed to music and sound effects, and the winning teams will be awarded prizes. An admission fee will be charged at the door the day of the event. November 24 – Family Holiday Beach Bonfire
Enjoy family fun, including music and free photo ops with Santa and other winter wonderland characters during the Family Holiday Beach Bonfire! Taking place on 2nd & Surf Avenue in North Wildwood from 5-9 p.m., the bonfire will also have food available for purchase. Price of admission will be a donation fee (TBA). November 24-26 – Christmas in North Wildwood
Celebrate the kick-off to the holiday season during Christmas in North Wildwood, from Friday, November 24 through Sunday, November 26. The events take place along Olde New Jersey Avenue & 100 block of East 17th Avenue in North Wildwood, visitors will enjoy outdoor firepits, hot chocolate, festive lights, decorations, and music while enjoying the holidays in North Wildwood. November 25 – Wildwoods Outdoor Holiday Shopping Village/Small Business Saturday
Enjoy the most wonderful time of the year during the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce’s 3rd Annual Wildwoods Holiday Shopping Village, taking place in Byrne Plaza and Downtown Wildwood from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The village features a complete outdoor shopping experience for all attending. Experience Small Business Saturday like never before as you shp local, small-business vendors to purchase the perfect holiday gift! Shop handmade goods from local artisans, boutiques, and specialty shops including jewelry, handcrafted items, holiday decorations, baked goods, gifts, and more. Holiday entertainment, music, raffles, and more will also take place during this event. This event will also serve as a gift drop location for The Lynch Who Stole Christmas From The GrYnch Program.
