Winterwood will not return to Wildwood Boardwalk in 2023

The Wildwoods have shined especially bright this holiday season, but we have learned that the Boardwalk will be a little less "Christmassy" next summer.

Earlier today, the owners of Winterwood Gift & Christmas Shoppe announced that they will not be returning to Wildwood next summer. While no specific reason for the store closing was mentioned, it was confirmed that the flagship Winterwood shop in Rio Grande and its sister location in Cape May will remain in operation.

Both of those stores are, and will stay, open year round.

The Wildwood shop has operated on a seasonal basis at 2910 Boardwalk (between Glenwood and Magnolia Avenues) for several years. The location was previously occupied by The Cook's Shoppe

Prior to moving to the Boardwalk, Winterwood operated a larger store at 4020 Ocean Avenue, the current home of the Wild Burrito

There is no immediate word on what may replace the store, so we'll be keeping an eye on this location in the weeks and months to come.

Announcement from the owners of Winterwood Gift & Christmas Shoppe:

Dear Loyal Friends & Customers... the time has come for us to close our Wildwood Boardwalk store. We loved our time spent in Wildwood, on and off the Boardwalk, with all of our faithful customers who shopped with us for so many years - so very much!

But this is not goodbye. We are still open 7 days a week at our flagship 10-room farmhouse in Rio Grande AND on the Washington Street Mall in Cape May. We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and cheers for an exciting New Year.

Don't Stop Believing!
