Quinn’s Original Fudge Island is already taking shape at the now-former home of the Original Fudge Kitchen, directly across the boards from Seaport Pier, with plans to open in early February.
(Note that this location is independent of the Original Fudge Kitchen at Boardwalk & Roberts Avenue, which remains in operation.)
The new shop’s namesake, owner John Quinn, worked for the Original Fudge Kitchen for 33 years, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, not to mention a local face that many will remember.
“I couldn’t be more excited to bring my own vision to this location, which has so much history behind it,” Quinn said. “We will continue to bring the quality and service that our loyal customers expect, and some new twists on some old favorites.”
Quinn confirmed that the store will be open year round, citing this as a major part of his vision.
“Our aim is to be your local fudge and candy store at the shore, a place that residents and visitors can rely on being open whenever you visit the Boardwalk,” he explained. “I’m also happy to help breathe new life into this area of the Boardwalk, which has seen a lot of positive new developments in recent years.”
Quinn served as general manager of the Original Fudge Kitchen under the Bogle Brothers, Joe & Paul, who sold the business prior to the 2021 season, retiring after nearly a half-century of operation.
