Guppi flagship store coming to Downtown Wildwood

Local entrepreneur
Abby MacQueen is swimming into new territory.

A familiar face at the Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market and various Cape May County “pop-up” events, McQueen has steadily grown and expanded her Guppi Sustainable Surf Co. brand since its launch in 2018.

This Spring, she will open a flagship store at 3113 Pacific Avenue, featuring a full line of eco-friendly apparel with clothing made from recycled water bottles and other sustainable materials.

“The store will focus mainly on eco-friendly products for all ages,” said MacQueen. “I’ll have new designs for t-shirts, options for kids, dresses and women’s apparel, and really something for everyone who’s looking to do a little good for the environment.”

Guppi will offer an assortment of shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, joggers, assorted totes and bags, beanies, hats and more. Sizing ranges from 5 months to 2XL.

All Guppi products are created in-house, via screen-printing by hand with eco-friendly inks and embroidery fashioned with threads made using recycled plastic.

“I feel that will be a really fun experience to walk and see it,” MacQueen said. “I’m hoping to introduce more variety, some other eco-friendly and local items, too, as I get going.”

A grand opening date has been set for Saturday, April 23, with festivities between 11 am - 3 pm.

MacQueen plans to operate the Guppi store six days a week, while continuing to attend local pop-ups through the summer. She hopes to operate year round out of the Pacific Avenue location, though specific dates and times will be determined after the busy summer season.
