The Wildwoods applauds and supports a proposed New Jersey legislative measure calling for free or reduced beach fees for active military, veterans and their families

PRESS RELEASE

THE WILDWOODS - The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement & Development Authority (GWTIDA) applauds and greatly supports a recently introduced New Jersey legislative bill that proposes free or reduced cost beach admission for active military, veterans, spouse or dependent children of veterans.

The measure, sponsored by NJ Assemblymen John Catalano and Gregory P. McGuckin, along with NJ Senator James Holzapfel, would include all Jersey Shore beach communities.

The Wildwoods, NJ have always offered FREE, spacious white-sandy beach access to the public - including veterans and their families!

In addition, GWTIDA supports its local municipalities - which include North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest - with over 3/4 of a million dollars in annual beach offset funding to help with the cost of beach maintenance, lifeguards and other beach expenses to keep the beaches free to the public.

Stretching for five miles across North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest, the Wildwoods beaches are free for visitors to enjoy with no beach tags required. The Wildwoods promote its beaches as the ideal location to clear the mind, escape the chaos and enjoy the calming effects of "Beach Therapy."

Their wide, spacious beaches allow plenty of room to stretch out. Beachgoers have the option of choosing to enjoy a relaxing day in the sun or a more adventurous day of activities on the water, such as surfing, boogie boarding, fishing, power boating, jet-skiing, sailing, kayaking and whale watching.

Plus, there's a dog-friendly beach and a large dog park right on the sand at Glenwood Avenue Beach, ensuring that visitors can bring along their four-legged friends.

In addition to being the perfect place for relaxation, the beach gives visitors a wonderful opportunity to exercise freely. With a great view and plenty of space, the Wildwoods are perfect for a run along the shoreline, yoga on the warm sand or a swim in the ocean.

Bike riding is also a great way to exercise by the beach. The Wildwoods offer a scenic, beach-side bike route that runs nearly the entire length of the five-mile island from the southernmost tip of the island along the beach bike path, up onto the world famous 2.5-mile Wildwoods Boardwalk to North Wildwood's Mulberry Bike Path to the Sea Wall - a 12-mile scenic round trip.
