The Wildwoods project a robust 2021 summer season

PRESS RELEASE

The Wildwoods - The much-anticipated 2021 vacation season could be close to record-breaking, as pre-season reservations reach an all-time high.

According to local hoteliers and real estate brokers, pre-season reservations for the 2021 summer season are outpacing 2019 levels. Vacationers are eager for a much-needed getaway this summer season, due to the inability to travel for the majority of 2020; and the Wildwoods are ready to welcome all new and returning visitors back to the resort destination to vacation safely experiencing all the outdoor attractions.

Visitors may choose from a wide variety of accommodations - many reasonably priced, including classic 'Doo Wop' motels, luxury beachfront hotels, just-like-home condominiums, cozy bed & breakfasts and spacious rental homes. Many Wildwoods hotels, motels and inns are family-owned and operated, with friendly and hospitable proprietors ready to greet you with a warm welcome.

"We are enthusiastic about the overwhelming amount of visitors that are choosing the Wildwoods as their summer vacation destination," said Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement & Development Authority (GWTIDA) Executive Director/CFO John Siciliano. "After the uncertainty of 2020, it's comforting to see our local hospitality businesses welcoming new and returning visitors back for what's sure to be a summer to remember at the New Jersey shore."

The Wildwoods offer over 11,000 room accommodations - including 8,000 hotel and motel rooms and over 3,000 vacation rentals - so there are plenty of options for everyone.

Mid-century-themed hotels/motels reflect their original predecessor buildings from the 1950s and '60s in architecture, decor and color - an architectural style known as 'Doo Wop.' Plastic palm trees tower over kidney-shaped pools, jutted roof angles, and wrought iron balconies; and whimsical names and flamboyant themes give these similarly-styled buildings individual character. Vivid imagery and vibrant aquas, oranges and pinks dazzle the eye of the motoring public, as bright neon signs beckon to travelers, each blatantly attempting to outdo their neighbor.

There are also first-class, full-service hotels sitting on the beach, many with Olympic-sized pools and kiddie pools, lounges, restaurants, arcades, broad sundecks, ocean view room balconies and gift shops. Guestrooms range from full kitchen-equipped efficiencies to opulently appointed multi-room Jacuzzi suites accommodating families of 10 or more people.

If simpler accommodations are desired, many hotels/motels have clean and comfortable air conditioned rooms with refrigerators, daily maid service, cable television, internet access, coffee makers, microwaves and outdoor pools. On an island bordered with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and pristine bay waters on the other, virtually all properties are either adjacent to or a short distance from the beach and all major attractions in the Wildwoods.

For visitors looking for more private accommodations, with no interruptions from hospitality staff or other vacationers, a Wildwoods private rental property is the perfect option. With over 3,000 vacation rentals spaced throughout the five-mile island, there's an endless amount of opportunity to groups large and small to vacation together under one roof. Numerous bed & breakfast options also run throughout the resort destination, providing a more intimate setting for vacationers looking for a summer getaway with their special someone.

In adherence with COVID-19 protocols and guidelines, the Wildwoods and its businesses are taking numerous precautions to ensure the health and safety of all visitors. From mandated wearing of facemasks and social distancing practices at businesses, in the queue lines, on amusement rides, and during indoor and outdoor dining; to frequent sanitizing of all surfaces, hotel/motel lobbies and common areas, private pools, leisure rentals and equipment, amusement rides, carnival games and arcades; the health and safety of all who visit the destination remains top-of-mind in the Wildwoods.
