It’s almost unfathomable to visualize Keenan’s Irish Pub sitting empty on the Friday morning leading into Memorial Day Weekend, yet that will be the reality this year.
This morning, Philly’s 93.3 WMMR announced that the live broadcast of the annual Preston & Steve Show that signals the “Official Opening of the Jersey Shore” has been postponed due to the current health crisis.
“Eggs with Peg” has become one of the Wildwoods’ most beloved traditions, drawing massive crowds to the Olde New Jersey Avenue entertainment district as the sun rises on each new summer season.
It’s also, unquestionably, the WILDEST!
(Those who have attended can easily attest; for those who haven’t, here’s just a taste...)
“As many of you look forward to this day as we do,” reads a statement on Keenan’s official Facebook page. “Eggs with Peg is an important tradition to us at Keenan’s and we think it’s important to wait until a time when we can do it right!
“Please keep an eye out for updates about a new date. As always, thank you for the continued support during these crazy times and stay safe. We are ready to open our doors whenever we get permission from our governor, and we cannot wait to make up for lost time!”
