THE WILDWOODS - Morey's Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey was named Best Midway Games Operations at the 2019 IAAPA Brass Ring Awards. The awards were presented on November 20 at the annual IAAPA Expo 2019 in Orlando, Florida.
"Morey's Piers strives to create memorable game experiences for both employees and guests by valuing safety, professionalism, engagement, efficiency and fun," says Mike Weimar, senior games manager of Morey's Piers. "Our unique training, innovative operations, and incomparable guest service allow us to operate a world class game operation at one of the best seaside parks in the world."
The "Games 101" training program is the key to successful game operations. It incorporates both classroom and real life exercises to demonstrate the difference between mediocre and extraordinary game procedures. Upon completion, new game operators are prepared to deliver the best possible experience to visitors.
The seaside attraction is home to 42 games spread across three amusement piers on the Wildwood Boardwalk and feature several types of games like group, skill, winner every time, chance and interactive. Interactive games have added excitement and interaction to the piers, allowing participants to be the main attraction while also enticing others to cheer and watch.
At Morey's Piers, guest can compete in the Strong Man Challenge or test sport skills with the Three Point Challenge, Soccer Challenge and Hockey Challenge.
The IAAPA Brass Ring Awards annually recognize achievements of excellence and innovations throughout the global attractions industry. The accolades received its name from a tradition dating back to the 1800's in which carousel riders endeavored to grab one of the few brass rings located next to the ride to receive a prize.
