Blue Palms Resort Offers “Doggie Unleashed” Stay Package

PRESS RELEASE

This September a weekend of Fido-friendly activities returns to Morey’s Piers leading to the famed “Gone to the Dogs” puppy pool party on closing day of Raging Waters Water Park on Sunday, September 10.

On Saturday, September 9 the Doggie Dash kicks-off the tail-wagging events when pooches set the pace for the 5K and 1 mile beach races. Both events kick-off at 9:00 am at the 25ft tall fire hydrant between Maple and Glenwood Avenues.

Pups receive a complimentary doggie gift and medal and an after-party complete with music, food and pet-friendly activities.

Prices start at $30 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 mile race. Proceeds from the race will benefit Team Foster, a non-profit organization that pairs service dogs with veterans suffering from combat-related disabilities. Morey’s Piers will donate $5 from each race registration directly to Team Foster.

New for 2017, owners can purchase the Doggie Dash & Splash combo registration. Prices start at $50 for the 5K and $45 for the 1 mile race and includes a ticket to Gone to the Dogs on Sunday.

The weekend ends in a splash with the annual puppy pool party on Sunday, September 10 at Raging Waters “Water Bark” from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm, with event check-in to begin at 5:15 pm. Celebrating the close of the water park for the season, canines have free rein to paddle along the river adventure, play in the fountain pool or fetch tennis balls in the activity pool.

Water bowls and free dog treats will be stationed throughout Raging Waters during the event and each dog will receive a Morey’s Piers souvenir to take home. Owners will find food and beverage menu options at the Wrecker’s Beach Grill for purchase. Admission is $25 per dog and $15 per person, with proceeds benefitting a local animal charity.
