Tuesday was National Pizza Day, but today is something even better:
Opening Day at Sam's Pizza Palace!
It's become one of our favorite local traditions.
Every year, on the Friday leading into Presidents Day Weekend, the famous boardwalk pizzeria at 26th Avenue re-opens its doors... and the road to summer gets a little easier.
Starting at 11 a.m. this morning, Sam's will be open (for weekends, for now) for the 2016 season.
Opening weekend always provides for a festive atmosphere. Come on down, and if you stop by, share a pic of your "first slice" on our Facebook page.
This year, Sam's is celebrating its 60th season - and eleventh in its current location under the Shore Plaza Beach Resort.
Today, it will join a small (but soon-to-be-growing) roster of Boardwalk businesses open in the waning days of winter, including neighboring Gateway 26 and Sand Jamm Surf Shop, and the Original Fudge Kitchen down at Roberts Avenue.
