According to the National Hurricane Center's
latest update, at 2 p.m., Hurricane Sandy has picked up speed and will make landfall between 5 - 6 p.m.
The system was 110 miles to the southwest of Atlantic City and was moving at a northwest clip of 28 mph.
Though the increased speed is an obvious concern, an earlier landfall would move the storm inland before high tide, shortly after 8 p.m.
