Happy "Twist Day!"

It was on this date in 1960 - 52 years ago now - that 18-year-old Chubby Checker introduced "The Twist" at the Rainbow Club, and set off a worldwide dance craze.

The song would go on to become the only single to top the Billboard 100 twice, in two separate chart runs (1960 and 1962).

Chubby Checker commemorated the 50th anniversary of "The Twist" in the Wildwoods in October 2010.

He most recently returned just a few weeks ago, headlining Wildwood's Centennial Celebration concert.
